"It wasn't long after the birth of the comely miss that her mother, who had been Geraldine Jacobi on the stage, decided that Jane Russell was going to be an actress. Mrs. Russell instructed her in acting technique almost from the time she was able to walk, and Jane took part in plays all during her school days. She augmented this early training by taking dramatic courses in Hollywood after graduation from Van Nuys High School in 1939."
